Se encuentra justo al sur del ecuador, a unos 500 km de Mal\u00e9, y es una de las islas m\u00e1s grandes del pa\u00eds.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A diferencia de la mayor\u00eda de las islas maldivas, Fuvahmulah tiene dos lagos de agua dulce, Bandaara Kilhi y Dhadimagi Kilhi, rodeados de humedales y campos de taro. En el extremo norte, la playa de Thoondu est\u00e1 cubierta de peque\u00f1os guijarros blancos y lisos. La vida en la isla es local y tranquila, lejos de las islas resort: una aut\u00e9ntica comunidad maldiva con guesthouses, peque\u00f1as cafeter\u00edas y gente amable.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Por qu\u00e9 el oc\u00e9ano es tan especial aqu\u00ed<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Sin laguna a su alrededor, la isla se eleva directamente desde aguas profundas.
